Thomas Babel’s practice encompasses a broad range of business law and litigation matters.
As a litigator for more than 20 years, Tom has extensive experience in pretrial, trial, and appellate matters across a variety of industries. Tom routinely helps clients resolve construction disputes, real estate disputes, limited liability company member disputes, shareholder disputes, and officer and director liability disputes. Additionally, Tom litigates trademark, trade secret, products liability, contract matters, and other business torts.
With deep in-house and outside general counsel experience, he also advises clients in drafting and negotiating complex commercial transactions, including license, and vendor agreements, purchase order terms, franchise, FCPA, and international supplier agreements.
Tom joins Forrest Firm after serving as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at an international tire distribution, retail, and franchise company. Prior to his in-house tenure at, Tom was a longtime shareholder in the Wilmington office of Ward & Smith, P.A., an attorney with Squire Patton Boggs, and Assistant General Counsel at Evenflo Company. Tom graduated with honors from the Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University and received his Bachelor of Science from Miami University in Ohio.
Tom is an active member of the Wilmington business community, having served on the Board of Trustees of the Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, as Chairman of the Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and on the Board of Trustees of the Cape Fear Community College Foundation.
