Attorney Michael Gillespie brings a unique set of skills and experience to his role at Forrest Firm. In addition to earning his J.D., Michael also holds a Master of Chemical Sciences from the University of Pennsylvania. While working on his masters degree, Michael conducted extensive research to better understand the drug delivery process, particularly in relation to treating laryngotracheal stenosis.
Michael earned his Juris Doctor degree from Baylor University in Texas and is a registered patent attorney. In his role at Forrest Firm, Michael supports both the corporate and intellectual property teams with a specific interest in the chemical sciences. Michael’s formal training in this area helps him understand the technical side of his clients’ needs – giving him the ability to ask the right questions – while his corporate background gives him the knowledge of the business aspect.
Prior to joining the Forrest Firm, Michael served as an in-house transactional lawyer where he drafted, reviewed, and negotiated agreements, including technology licensing agreements, professional services agreements, supply agreements, and other commercial agreements. Michael worked closely with internal clients, vendors, and customers to assess their cybersecurity needs, identify and mitigate potential risks, and effectively manage and maintain their private data.
Michael began is legal career as a Judicial Fellow for the first Judicial District of Pennsylvania where he researched relevant law, evaluated legal analyses, and drafted appellate judicial opinions, and more. Michael earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan.
