Jen Hoverstad, in her role as of counsel, is passionate about advising small business owners and, inspired by her own journey with breast cancer at age 34, helping clients prepare for life’s most unexpected events through estate planning.
Prior to practicing full-time at Forrest Firm, Jen had the privilege of working in-house with some of the Triangle’s most successful small business owners. She advised executive leadership at Counter Culture Coffee, O3 Strategies (now Walk West), and a local Chick-fil-A franchisee. Her roles in the corporate world varied, but included leadership positions in human resources, compliance, training, client services, and marketing. Jen began her legal career as a litigator at the Raleigh law firm of Rik Lovett & Associates in 2011.
Outside of Forrest Firm, Jen is the director of community engagement for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, a national 501(c)3 headquartered in Raleigh. After being diagnosed with, and successfully treated for, an aggressive form of breast at age 34, Jen realized her life’s calling is to fund a cure for all cancers that affect women so her sister, her mom, her friends, and, most importantly, her daughters don’t have to go through the rigors of chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation like she did.
Although Jen is not full-time with the firm, she is an active client manager, ensuring her clients received the high standard of client service promised by Forrest Firm.
