Jamie Lisa Forbes joined the Forrest Firm’s Greensboro office through the firm’s merger with Worth Law Firm in January of 2018.
In her of counsel role, previously at Worth Law and now with the Forrest Firm, Ms. Forbes focuses her practice on estate planning and administration for Greensboro-area entrepreneurs and executives, estate litigation, tax law, fiduciary law, and business law, including corporate formation and strategic transactions.
Jamie is a 1977 graduate of the University of Colorado. She earned her juris doctor degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law in 2001. From 2001 to 2011, she was an associate with the law firm of Barron & Berry where her areas of practice were family law, personal injury law for both plaintiffs and defendants and business litigation. She joined the Worth Firm in 2011.
Licensed to practice law in North Carolina and before the Eastern District of the United States District Court, the Middle District of the United States District Court and the United States Tax Court, Ms. Forbes is also a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and the Greensboro Bar Association.
In addition to her professional pursuits in the law, Jamie is an award-winning author of contemporary fiction. Her recent collection of short stories, The Willow Smalls and Other Stories, is the winner of the 2015 High Plains Book Award, while her 2011 novel, Unbroken, took home the WILLA Literary Award for Outstanding Contemporary Fiction.
