Andy Jones maintains a diverse practice focused on providing proactive counsel to help businesses and their owners solve problems and create value, primarily in the areas of dispute resolution and corporate transactions. A leader in firm initiatives, Andy also serves as managing partner of the Firm’s Wilmington and Charlotte offices.
In his litigation practice, Andy represents clients in matters involving all forms of civil and commercial disputes, from pre-filing negotiations to appeals. In addition, Mr. Jones provides business counsel to businesses, entrepreneurs, and executives, with an emphasis on formations, complex commercial contract negotiations, mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions. He regularly provides outside legal counsel to clients in the transportation, food and beverage, technology, and construction industries, among others. In addition to his transactional and litigation practices, Andy advises families on estate planning and administration matters.
Andy began his legal career at the Wilmington law firm of Rountree Losee LLP, where he ended his tenure as an equity partner. During his time at Rountree Losee, he concentrated his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, business law, and admiralty and maritime law. Andy joined the Forrest Firm in 2017 to establish the firm’s Wilmington Office.
Andy earned his juris doctor degree, magna cum laude, from Elon University’s School of Law in Greensboro where he was a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship (full merit-based scholarship), Articles Editor of the Elon Law Review, and a member of the Moot Court Board. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science from Davidson College.
In addition to his legal practice, Andy is an active member of his community. He is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Coastal Horizons Center, Inc., a non-profit providing substance abuse, mental health, and crisis intervention services throughout Eastern North Carolina. An Eagle Scout, he also serves on the Executive Board of the Cape Fear Council, Boy Scouts of America and is currently the Vice Chair of Membership for the Council. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Cape Fear Area United Way and the Coach Bill Dooley Education Foundation. In his professional associations, Mr. Jones is North Carolina’s Representative to the American Bar Association Young Lawyers’ Division, and a member of the North Carolina Bar Association Young Lawyers’ Division. In 2018, Andy was selected as a fellow in the E. A. Morris Fellowship for Emerging Leaders.
