Practicing with a Purpose: Pro Bono Services for Start-ups
October 20, 2021
At Forrest Firm, we believe in empowering the people in our communities to reach their full potential. Last spring, we launched “Practicing with Purpose,” a platform for giving away $5,000 in free legal services to two non-profits in North Carolina. We were grateful for the opportunity to partner with winning organizations Designed for Joy and Wake Smiles. This fall, we are excited to be launching a similar campaign that will be awarding $5,000 in pro bono legal services to two North Carolina start-up organizations!
As a Certified B Corporation®, we are passionate about finding ways to use business as a force for good. Not only are start-ups key engines of innovation and job creation, but their impact often creates a positive ripple effect within our local communities. We know that a solid legal foundation is key to enabling young organizations to achieve their goals, and we are excited to come alongside two start-ups to help them further their missions.
We are now collecting submissions from North Carolina start-up organizations who are (1) younger than five years old, and (2) plan to hire three or more employees in the next 12 months. A panel of community leaders will review the information and select two organizations. The selected start-ups will receive up to $5,000 in pro bono legal services delivered by Forrest Firm attorneys. We will be announcing the chosen start-ups on Giving Tuesday, November 30, 2021!
We are excited to celebrate Giving Tuesday by saying ‘thank you’ to start-up organizations that are lifting up our local communities through ideas and actions. You can partner with us and join the Giving Tuesday celebration by spreading the word to your clients, colleagues, friends and family!
