GARD TO SERVE AS JUDGE FOR INVEST FOR IMPACT COMPETITION AT UNC KENAN-FLAGLER BUSINESS SCHOOL

On Friday, February 24, Forrest Firm attorney Aaron Gard will sit on the judges panel for the 11th Annual Invest for Impact National Finals at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School.

Invest for Impact is an MBA case competition that brings sustainably minded entrepreneurs and successful impact investors together with MBA students. In this competition, student teams from MBA programs around the world play the role of an impact investing firm that must go through the entire impact investment process in an extremely condensed timeframe.

What normally takes years of work is condensed into a written plan and a 10-minute pitch to be quickly digested by teams. Impact investor judges, like Aaron Gard, observe the students and entrepreneurs from the periphery, listen to the student pitches, and choose a winner — the team they would most like to have as their impact investing partner.

Aaron Gard joined the Forrest Firm in 2016. His areas of practice include corporate formation and governance, commercial contracts, and strategic transactions. His transactional background includes deep experience in mergers and acquisitions and leading complex contractual matters in healthcare and life sciences. In addition to his role at the Forrest Firm, Aaron is partner and general counsel for Durham-based multimedia company GreatestFan.
