FORREST FIRM TEAMS UP WITH DURHAM BULLS
March 6, 2013
The Durham Bulls, class AAA affiliate of Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays and perennial contender for the International League title, hold a special place in the hearts of Durhamites and their Triangle neighbors, as evidenced by the club routinely topping Minor League Baseball’s attendance standings with packed crowds at the beloved Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
The Bulls have a tradition of excellence both on and off the field of play. In recent years, the team has won the Class AAA Championship Game, as well as setting the wins record for the AAA class of minor league baseball. The organization’s record-setting success and community support recently earned the Bulls the distinction of hosting the AAA All-Star Game in 2014.
Baseball fans and movie lovers of all ages saw the team immortalized in the 1988 film, Bull Durham.
The sponsorship, a key part of the Forrest Firm’s commitment to Durham and the Triangle community, will run for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. The sponsor package features a prominent, centerfield sign on the outfield wall of the Park’s Goodmon Field.
“We are quite proud to begin what will be a very fruitful partnership with the Durham Bulls,” stated Forrest. “It’s no secret that the Bulls are one of the best things about living in the Triangle. The DBAP is a special gathering place in the heart of Durham’s downtown business district, and the team brings together all walks of life for fun and fellowship. To have our firm associated with an organization as respected as the Bulls is a no-brainer for us—through the years, they have built the ultimate family experience for Triangle sports fans, an enduring source of pride for all of us.”
“We appreciate the Forrest Firm’s enthusiasm for a partnership with the Durham Bulls and their investment over the next two seasons,” stated George Habel, the club’s vice president. “Our loyal fans and corporate partners have been instrumental to the sustained success of the team, and we look forward to having the Forrest Firm on board. Forgive the pun, but both of us are bullish on Durham!”
The 2013 International League season finds the Bulls opening on the road in Norfolk to face the Tides on April 4. The team opens at home on April 8 against the Gwinnett Braves, the start of a five-game home stand that also features a return visit from the Tides.
