The Forrest Firm has signed on as the exclusive sponsor of The Interbrew, a video series aimed at startup entrepreneurs, debuting on Vimeo this spring. The Interbrew combines two of North Carolina’s hottest business areas—startups and craft breweries—in an effort to connect entrepreneurs, share a few beers, and learn lessons of starting and growing businesses in multiple industry sectors.

interbrewFeaturing a pair of Triangle entrepreneurs as hosts, The Interbrew will air 10 episodes throughout the spring. In the new series, hosts Jared Childs and Kyle Sheats sit down with area startup executives and discuss a variety of issues facing entrepreneurs in the early stages of building companies.  As the pair interview startup executives, they also share craft brewed beers from an array of area microbreweries.

Thus far, the Interbrew has featured founders and executives at social app Stealz, Trophy Brewing, and beverage company Mati Energy, winners of last year’s Google Demo Day and recipients of venture funding from AOL founder Steve Case.

Budding entrepreneurs since their days at NC State, both Interbrew hosts have spent time founding companies and working at area entities tasked with nurturing startups. Childs is the founder of Pitch and Primer, a men’s apparel company based in Raleigh (and Forrest Firm client), while Sheats splits his time between running The Interbrew and as director of videography at a local drone startup, Go Unmanned.

According to Sheats, the idea for the series came as the pair “noticed that their most impactful meetings took place at a local brewery. We thought we’d meet with leaders of area startups, share a beer or two with them, and have great conversations that shared the lessons we’ve all learned from starting businesses.”

Childs credits the Forrest Firm for sharing the duo’s vision for connecting entrepreneurs in an effort to improve the area’s already bountiful resources for startups. “I’ve worked personally with the team at Forrest Firm, and they really understand the needs of entrepreneurs,” he said. “These guys are a lot of fun to work with, and they adapt to the frenetic pace of startups as a true partner should. We’re able to meet the day-to-day challenges of running a business, especially the speed at which we face critical decisions, with the responsive counsel of the Forrest Firm. We’re thrilled to have the firm on board as our exclusive sponsor.”
