Forrest Firm Announces Merger with Greensboro’s Worth Law Firm

December 27, 2017 (DURHAM, NC) The Forrest Firm, a business law firm and certified B Corporation with offices across North Carolina, announces its merger with Greensboro-based Worth Law Firm, which is scheduled to close within the next few business days.
With the merger of the Forrest Firm and Worth Law, lead attorney Thomas Worth, attorney Jamie Lisa Forbes, and office manager Margaret Andrews will join the Forrest Firm’s team of attorneys and support professionals. The former Worth Law Firm office at 301 South Greene Street in Greensboro will become the Forrest Firm’s seventh office, as the Greensboro team joins professionals located in Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh, and Wilmington.
A member of the Tax Law, Business Law and Estate Planning Sections of the North Carolina Bar Association, Thomas Worth focuses his practice on corporate and transactional law, tax law, IRS controversies and tax litigation, conservation easements, and estate planning. Mr. Worth has practiced law in North Carolina, as well as in the United States Tax Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and in Federal District Court for the Middle and Western Districts of North Carolina for the last 35 years. Mr. Worth is also licensed to practice in the United States Court of Federal Claims. Mr. Worth is a 1978 honors graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned his juris doctor degree in 1982 from the Wake Forest University School of Law.
A member of the North Carolina Bar Association and the North Carolina Association of Women attorneys, Jamie Lisa Forbes focuses her practice on estate planning and administration, family law, fiduciary law, and business law. Ms. Forbes is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and before the United States Tax Court. Ms. Forbes is a 1977 graduate of the University of Colorado. She earned her juris doctor degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law in 2001.
Margaret Andrews takes over as the Office Manager of the Forrest Firm’s Greensboro office, in addition to her duties serving as legal assistant to Mr. Worth and Ms. Forbes. A licensed notary public of Alamance County, Ms. Andrews assists with estate administration duties of the firm, as well as preparation of estate planning documents and corporate and limited liability business formation and compliance.
