Attorney Sean Wagner joined the Forrest Firm’s Charlotte office in February 2018. In his role at the firm, Mr. Wagner represents clients in a wide variety of commercial litigation, government investigations, and regulatory compliance matters. He also provides strategic, proactive counsel focused on helping companies navigate compliance and litigation risks associated with information security, digital services and products, cybersecurity, e-commerce, and data privacy.
Mr. Wagner began his legal career serving as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable James H. Payne in the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Oklahoma. In 2014, he entered private practice as an associate attorney at the Charlotte office of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP. During his tenure at Bradley, he worked with clients in a variety of industries, with emphasis on the banking and financial services sector. Mr. Wagner advised clients on a wide variety of complex strategic transactions, litigation, and regulatory compliance matters.
Sean Wagner graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in public affairs and administration in 2009 from the University of Oklahoma. In 2012, he received a juris doctor degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. From 2012 to 2014, Mr. Wagner served as a judicial law clerk for the District Court of the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
Sean Wagner is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and Oklahoma, and he is a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association, and Oklahoma Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of North Carolina; the United States Bankruptcy Court of the Eastern District of North Carolina; the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, and Western Districts of Oklahoma; the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Texas; the United States Courts of Appeal for the Fourth and Tenth Circuits; and the Tribal Courts of the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muscogee (Creek), and Citizen Potawatomi Nations.
An active community servant, Sean serves on the board of directors for both Junior Achievement and the Historic Cabarrus Association.
