Attorney Jason Pfister joined the Forrest Firm in the summer of 2017 after practicing as a business attorney in the Raleigh-Durham area for 11 years. Mr. Pfister focuses his practice on dispute resolution and commercial litigation, land use, and the development of commercial real estate.
Mr. Pfister counsels clients on risk management and dispute resolution, while advancing client interests proactively when litigation proves strategically wise or unavoidable. He represents clients in North Carolina’s federal and state courts, including the North Carolina Business Court, in various types of commercial disputes, including matters arising out of breach of contract, fiduciary duties, unfair trade practices, real estate, promissory notes, guarantees, commercial leases, shareholders agreements, and governing documents for closely-held entities. In addition, Mr. Pfister counsels clients on all aspects related to the development of real estate, including land use, zoning, acquisition and leasing of commercial properties.
Mr. Pfister began his legal career in 2000 as a paralegal with the Raleigh law firm of Ogletree Deakins, beginning his practice as an associate corporate attorney in 2006 at the Raleigh firm of Yates, McLamb, and Weyher. After stints at Yates McLamb, and the Raleigh offices of Smith Moore Leatherwood and K&L Gates, Mr. Pfister joined the Raleigh office of Nexsen Pruet.
Prior to joining the Forrest Firm, he served Nexsen Pruet’s corporate clients on all aspects related to the acquisition and development of real estate, including drafting documents and litigation of disputes. His practice has addressed needs related to leasing, land use and zoning, as well as the litigation of construction, environmental, and commercial disputes.
Mr. Pfister earned his law degree from the Wake Forest University School of Law in 2006. He is a 2001 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a bachelor’s degree in political science.
A member of the Wake County Bar and the North Carolina Bar, Jason Pfister serves on the board of the Interfaith Food Shuttle in Raleigh.
