Attorney Gregory Herman-Giddens brings more than two decades of legal experience in wealth planning, protection, and management to the Forrest Firm. As founder of the Chapel Hill estate planning, probate, and tax firm, TrustCounsel, Mr. Herman-Giddens advises clients in many areas, including estate planning, probate, taxation, trust administration, taxation, asset protection, guardianship, special needs planning, and charitable gift planning. He also works with clients in the areas of business formation and non-profit organizations.
In his of counsel role at the Forrest Firm, Greg provides counsel to clients on matters related to estate planning and trust and estate administration. He also serves as an expert witness in trust and estate litigation cases, as needed.
Mr. Herman-Giddens is a frequent speaker both locally and nationally and has published articles in several publications including Estate Planning, Taxation for Accountants; Taxation for Lawyers; NC Lawyers Weekly, and NC Bar Association publications. His firm, TrustCounsel, publishes the nationally recognized and syndicated North Carolina Estate Planning Blog.
In 2010, Greg was the President of the Orange County (NC) Bar Association, and he also served as President of the 15-B Judicial District Bar from 2014-15. In addition, he volunteers with NC Legal Aid and the NC Center for Non-Profits Pro Bono Panel.
Mr. Herman-Giddens is licensed to practice law in North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, and New York, and has qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales.
