The Forrest Firm is proud to sponsor a longstanding tradition promoting one of the Triangle’s most respected charities, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s “An Evening with Master Chefs.”
The 22nd Evening with Master Chefs will take place at Durham Convention Center ballroom on Sunday, February 25, at 5 pm. The evening will start with hors d’oeurves and spirits. While guests enjoy their food, they will have the chance to bid on various silent auction items. Following the opening reception, guests will enjoy a multi-course meal highlighting the unique talents of each of the participating chefs.
Over the course of the evening, the foundation will honor individuals who have made a significant contribution to cystic fibrosis research and care in the past year.
The Gravy Boys, a Durham-based acoustic Americana group, will provide entertainment. The evening will conclude with a live auction and special presentation honoring the chefs.
Proceeds from An Evening with Master Chefs benefit the work of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Founded in 1955 by parents desperate to save their children’s lives, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the world’s leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis a rare, genetic, life-shortening disease that affects every organ in the body and makes breathing difficult. The organization has helped accelerate innovative research and drug development, as well as advancing care and advocacy. Virtually every approved cystic fibrosis drug therapy available now was made possible because of the foundation and its supporters.
60 years ago, most children diagnosed with cystic fibrosis didn’t live long enough to attend elementary school. Thanks to the foundation’s research and care, the median survival age of people with cystic fibrosis is now about 40.
